Teen Read Week is October 17th-23rd. The Escobedo MS Library will be hosting special activities during all three lunches. In order to participate in the activities, you MUST reply to this post with your name, the day you are interested in and the lunch that you have (1st, 2nd, or 3rd). Mrs. Baca will post the list of names of those who signed up and will be joining us on the library doors. The activities are:

Monday- Movie Monday: Duke Ellington video based on the book Duke Ellington by Davis Pinkney. Duke Ellington is a famous jazz artist. Mrs. Baca will also read a book about him. We will listen to samples of his music too. Popcorn will be served.

Tuesday- Silent Library Game: We will play our version of the MTV show Silent Library. Students will attempt to read silently while another student tries to make them laugh out loud. We will see who can keep a straight face and be crowned the Silent Library winner.

Wednesday- Audio Cafe: Listen to samples of various audio books available for check-out at our library. Predict what will happen next and then check-out the audio books if you want to know more. Spiced Apple Cider will be served.

Thursday- Game Day with Music: All of the Board Games will be out and the music will be pumping. Come with your friends and play games.

Friday- Poetry Jam: Listen to famous author/poet/photographer Charles R. Smith Jr. tell his poetry on his cd and explore his books. If you like sports or rap type music, you will you not want to miss out. Feel free to share your poetry with us.
