Help Me Do the Math…
October1
So I bought a new home computer the other day. I had a friend over and was telling him about it. When I told him it had a 640GB hard drive, he was shocked! We were trying to figure out how many movies (an average) that I could archive on that huge hard drive. So my question to you is “How many average length movies could I keep on my computer assuming that I compressed the files first?” The person who comes up with the closest estimate will get a prize from me. Get calculating…
about 6!!!!!!
Thanks for the guess but I’d have to say it is A LOT more movies! My frind has a 160GB I-Pod that currently has over 20 movies in it and it still has plenty of space left. Try again…
I think its about 136, but thats if you only had movies on your GB.
I don’t think a 160 MB iPod has over 20 movies in it and has leftover space. A movie averages to about 1 Gigabyte. So if your HDD for your new computer has about 600 gigs, and if Vista Applications don’t hog up your memory, about 150-200 movies total if you don’t have any other programs on it.
Very observant Johnson! Actually you are correct about the iPod capacity. I made a mistake and said that my friends iPod has 160MB but what I meant was 160GB. Huge difference! Your answer about the movies was very well thought out and explained well. Why don’t you come by the library and claim your prize? Have a great weekend!
Hehe. Thanks Mrs. Baca!
ummm, about 7? I guesstimate.
Johansen already anwsered our question. The answer was closer to around 200. Thanks for participating! Keep a lookout for future questions that I will ask on the blog.
My estimation would be around 6 maybe 7 or 8
Thanks Jordan for the guess but our friend Johansen has already answered this question. I was closer to 200 movies. Did you know you can read all the responses in a thread?
oops, when i saw that i got back to caculating, then i saw i messed up! When i went back i THEN i saw it was 200. oops! haha
