Have you read the 2010 Nevada Reader, Young Adult nominated book Beastly by Alex Flinn? If not, you should! It is a great modern day Beauty and the Beast type story. What’s even better is that I just found out that a movie is in production based on the book. The star studded cast includes: Vanessa Hudgens, Mary Kate Olsen, Neil Patrick Harris, and Alex Pettyfer. The Devils Arithmetic

She didn’t want to go with her family because she didn’t really like her religion and heritages traditions.
