Time flies…
Well, it’s the end of the year and time has flew by yet once again. Many of you know that this was my first year in middle school and I loved every minute of it. So my question to you is “How did I do? What did you like? What could be improved on? Any other questions or concerns?” Just let me know by responding to this post. Thanks for your time! All comments will allow me to do a better job next year.

This year was the best elective class I’ve had in middle school and probably forever. You made it fun and easy to understand what to do. I like everything about the library, it’s interesting and fun. You’re the first librarian I’ve seen that knows how to make it fun for kids.

I agree that this year has flew by! You have been my favorite librian all the other librians I’ve had have been strict and mean I did like going into the library until you became a librarian at Escobedo. I love the music because I listen to music as much as possible. The only thing I don’t like is lunches coming in to the library and eating lunch because I like the quiet and the kids that come are extremely annoying. Thanks for a great year and keep up the great work your Student Aide KEVIN JACKMAN!!!!!!<3<3<3

This has been a GREAT elective for me. I never knew a class in school could be so fun. You are a great librarien because you actually let us talk and eat and listen to music in the library. You also treat us like friends rather than students. THANKS FOR A GREAT YEAR!!!

SO THIS YEAR WAS REALLY COOL AND I HAD A LOT OF FUN BECAUSE IT WASNT LIKE A LIBRARY. WE HAD MUSIC GOING AN DWE HAD PEOPLE TALKING AND PEOPLE EVEN TOOK THE MICROPHONE AND STARTED SINGING AND DANCING:) THIS LIBRARY IS A LOT DIFFERENT THAN OTHER LIBRARIES BU TWE STILL GET OUR WORK DONE AND DO WHAT WE NEED TO DO. NO ONE HAS TO LIKE WHISPER AND SHUT UP THE WHOLE TIME. THIS IS JUST A FUN PLACE TO COME AND HANG OUT, GET A BOOK, AND HAVE FUN:)
BYEE!<<<<<3

Im not going to lie, I thought that being a student aide in the library would be so boring! Mostly because you see all of the librarians that make getting a book difficult with so many of their “rules”. Sure every library need rules but only that are neccessary like you do!:) You make being in the library enjoyable! This is the only middle school that I have been to that has a really open library like yours! I love how you put music that the students listen to and not just what you like. Also how you let kids eat in the library. The way you run the library makes more kids want to come in it!;)

This year was really fun and much better than last year what you should do for next year is to get more computers cause there is not enough for people in the morning to play games and look up books. Another idea is to instead of the ice cream party for stret o’s you should have a wii day for them. Plus you could get more books. and i really like how you play music in the library and not boring music and being your student aide was really fun and i never thought it would be so fun but it was and this year i have checked out way more books then last year.

This year in the library was just amazing. Even though i had to listen the lessons at least 5 times before it was my turn to hear it, it was just as fun. When i got my schedule during summer, i was dissapointed to be working in the library because i didnt know we got a new librarian. Last year, it was a PAIN to be in the library because we had to be quiet, the library was the mean ones you see in movies. But you Mrs. Baca, you are the COMPLETE opposite. Your fun, loving, and you understand what is happening. The library couldnt be any more fun. I love having the music playing. It makes things less akward. Thank you for a wonderful year. I hope i get to work in here next year, i couldnt picture myself anywhere else. P.S. we might need more bean bag chairs, people love those things
Im truly going to miss this year. Thank you&nd we love you Mrs. Baca. <3

Mrs. Baca, all of these kids have said it…your library is the best. You don’t scare us away with rules and procedures…you allow us to bring ourselves into the library and have a good time doing it too. You’ve made it a roomy place to hang out with friends.
And that’s why you’re such a great librarian. You have turned the library world upside down by playing music, letting us talk at a normal voice level (ok…maybe a little bit louder
), and letting us read by checking out as many books as we want! There are no limits in your library (besides inappropriateness and violent games
), which attracted students because it was something new and something way cool. Rebellious teenagers like us like that
.
Plus, I owe you my life
You gave me back my love of reading. I was an obsessed book reader when I was in early elementary school (2nd-4th grade). But then I got a video game system and a T.V. and that changed everything. I found myself playing games and watching mindless sit-coms at night instead of reading, until this year. You gave me a challenge, and even though I didn’t complete the challenge, I was rewarded. My love of reading came back to me and I now I find myself finishing moderatley thick (200-300 pages) books in a matter of 2 days.
You let me become an “unofficial” student aide, and that gave me some life experience with: dealing with people (a very important life skill-especially because I have a hard time working with people), dealing with money (i still can’t count change in my head! oh well
), and dealing with technology (at least i got the hang of that!). It also gave me something to do every morning, which was helpful because I was getting bored in the mornings.
Well, in conclusion Mrs. Baca, you are the best librarian in the Clark County School District, and I am really going to miss you once I get to high school (go Northwest Hawks!)

To those of you who made the kind comments above, I want you ALL to know that you are the best! You make each of my days brighter and you give me all the happiness any teacher could ever want. To those moving on to high school, I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. To those who will be joining me next year, “rock on”. Have a great summer, until we meet again!
