Library Blog Training

I have been fortunate to have been asked to provide a training about blogs during Staff Development Day to the CCSD Middle and High School Librarians. This post is for those librarians that attended the training.

The goal for the training is to allow Librarians the time to understand the basics of blogging, explore blogs created by educators, and determine how they see blogs fitting into their Library.

1. Visit the blogs of Librarians online. Determining how you see blogging fitting into your Library.

Blogs through Edublogs:

Go to http://www.edublogs.org . Towards the bottom of the page, you will see blog links. Click around.

Go to http://theedublogger.edublogs.org and click on the link across the top of the page called Check Out These Class Blogs

Other great blogs:

Advanced users:

Enter your blog and create a post for your kids to visit with a picture or video. Include a higher level thinking question that the students will respond to.

Create a post with some information pertaining to content currently being studied. Create a poll at http://polldaddy.com that relates to the information provided.

Create a library quiz based on information on a previous lesson or skill taught in your library at http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/create-a-quiz.php.

Wow! I’m honored that you included my blog, Book Bytes, in your list! Sometimes it’s nice to know that someone is reading it. You’ve collected some cool links in this post that I am interested in using myself now!

Feel free to contact me via email sometime (you can use the “Contact” page on the blog). I’d love to pick your brain about some of the stuff you’ve got going on in your LMC!
