Nevada Reading Week “Discover the Mysteries of the World: Read!”
Nevada Reading week is coming March 2nd-6th. The theme for 2009 is “Discover the Mysteries of the World: Read!” Daily activities include: Mystery Readers and Trivia Questions read over the morning announcements. We will Drop Everything and Read the first 10 minutes of each period on March 2nd to kick off the week. For those competitive people, there will be contests like Door Decorating and Bookmark Decorating. On March 4th, during both lunches, we will have another Book Swap. There will be various Guest Readers throughout the week as well. If you have any other great ideas to promote reading, send me a comment on this post. If you know someone (like you parents) that you could invite to come read, please do so.

The human mind is not capable of grasping the Universe. We are like a little child entering a huge library. The walls are covered to the ceilings with books in many different tongues. The child knows that someone must have written these books.
It does not know who or how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. But the child notes a definite plan in the arrangement of the booksÂ
- a mysterious order which it does not comprehend, but only dimly suspects.
